Courses

Courses are run by the Greens Care Committee in conjunction with Bowls South Africa.

Courses

The following courses are offered:

  • Green Keeper Assistant Level 1
  • Green Keeper Level 1
  • Machine Maintenance
  • Taking and recording levels

Green Keeper Assistant Level 1

Entry qualification
A minimum of one years experience assisting on a green.

Course requirements
Possession of the latest BSA level 1 booklet

Cost
Current costs are available on request to the Western Province office.

Qualification
Certificate and badge (see notes below)

Notes

  • For individuals who are not registered with BSA and have a BSA Number only an attendance certificate is awarded provided a valid ID number is supplied.
  • This course is open to interested non green keeping individuals, subject to note 1 above

Green Keeper Level 1

Entry qualification
A minimum of one years experience as an active Green Keeper.
Able to produce a green with at least a C grade.

Course requirements
Possession of the latest BSA level 1 booklet

Cost

Machine Maintenance

Entry qualification
Any individual working with greens maintenance equipment

Course requirements
Greens equipment needing maintenance

  • Courses are designed to be held on site with no more than three attendees.
  • Various approved video demonstrations are also available.

Taking and Recording Levels

Entry qualification
Any individual wishing to record a Green’s level score

Course requirements
Availability of level taking equipment
